This is the first full-length study, and certainly the most comprehensive account so far published in any language, of the parachute and air landing troops, Fallschirmjager, of the Third Reich. Much of the photographic material in the book is taken from German war archives and is hitherto unpublished.
 
Germany used airborne troops extensively during the early part of the Second World War; this book covers their uniforms, equipment, weapons, transport, training, and operations, including their use as elite infantry.
