Sergeant Pilot Jack Warren's face went as white as chalk, and sweat stood out on his brow as he heard his flight leader's voice crackle in the earphones. Four Stukas were bombing the convoy. Nine FW's screamed in from above. Jack's Spitfire had the easier job, for it was the ex-airline pilot's first action.
 
But what a job. Four Stukas against a man whose nerve had cracked-who was scared even of the power of his own plane!
